Thesis = noun
Definition: The subject or argument for an essay
Thesis Example: “Students should not be allowed to have phones in class as they are distracting.” Sentence: He stated his thesis in the introductory paragraph.
Summarize = verb summary = noun
Definition: A shortened version giving the main points
Summarize Example: Book Report Sentence: I summarized the short story by writing a one paragraph description of the main events.
Affinity = noun
Definition: A natural attraction for something; a strong bond Affinity
Example: enjoying something immediately Sentence: He has had an affinity for the taste of ice cream for as long as he can remember.
Altercation = Noun
Altercation Definition: A violent argument or confrontation
Altercation Example: a fight Sentence: The disagreement between the two teams grew into a large altercation with pushing and screaming.
Integral Definition: A required piece to make something work; an essential part
Integral = adj. Example: The heart Sentence: The heart is an integral part of the human body.
