This 1997 Acura Integra Type R is #65 of 320 cars built for the US-market and was purchased new by the seller in December 1997. It now has 58,294 miles and reportedly remains stock aside from dealer-added A/C and tinted windows. Power comes from an 1.8-liter DOHC VTEC inline-four paired to a factory close-ratio 5-speed manual transmission. In April 2012 less than 850 miles ago, the seller had Gettel Acura in Sarasota, Florida complete a $4,332.04 service including a new timing belt, water pump, four new tires, a valve adjustment, comprehensive fluid services, an A/C service, engine oil change, and more as detailed below. This Acura is now being offered with partial service records from new, a clear Carfax, and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.
Several years ago the lower front bumper was damaged after hitting a curb while parking. During the April 2012 service the seller had a new OEM lower bumper spoiler strip installed. The included Carfax is accident-free, and several pictures of factory VIN stickers are provided in the gallery below. Current exterior flaws reportedly include a golf ball-sized ding on the passenger side, a few marks on the wheels, and imperfections in the window tint.
The car’s body has been kept stock including the prominent rear spoiler, single-exit exhaust system, rear fender decals, and white 15″ alloy wheels. In April 2012 at 57,463 miles a new set of 195/55 series Goodyear Eagle tires were fitted and a four-wheel alignment was performed. The windshield wipers were also replaced. Trunk compartment photos are shown in the gallery including the OEM spare.
The driver’s seat is shown above, and features ITR-specific suede-like bolstering, cloth inserts, and red stitching. Red stitching is also found on the rear seats, shift knob and center armrest.
Per the seller, this Type R was retrofitted with an OEM air conditioning system, while the rest of the cabin has been kept original including the factory stereo system. An A/C service was completed in April 2012 less than 850 miles ago.
The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 58,294 miles, which is corroborated with partial service records and the Carfax.
A plaque on the center armrest identifies this particular Type R as #65 of 320 examples built for the US-market in 1997.
The 1.8-liter 16-valve DOHC VTEC inline-four produced 195 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and 130 lb-ft of torque at 5,700 rpm when new. According to the seller, this ITR has been primarily serviced by Florida Acura dealerships from new, and a new battery was installed less than two years ago. Partial maintenance records from new accompany the sale.
In addition to the aforementioned April 2012 maintenance, the seller had Gettel Acura in Sarasota, Florida perform a multi-point inspection, valve adjustment, new timing belt, water pump, thermostat assembly, spark plugs, battery, fuel filter, power steering hose, power steering fluid, an engine oil/filter change, transmission fluid change, and brake fluid service. The entire four-page $4,332.04 invoice is pictured in the gallery.
The accident-free Carfax shows one owner and Florida registration from new. Consistent odometer readings are recorded throughout the years, as are a number of dealer service history records.
