Another One? Low-mile Acura Integra GS-R Set to Sell For High Price

We thought the low-mile Integra Type R was a unique case with its high selling price but this GS-R seems to prove us wrong.

Check your garages for low-mile Hondas and Acuras, because there now seems to be a value pattern, rather than just an anomaly. If you’re not sure what we’re talking about, it’s the fact that fairly “new” cars – in terms of the collector car world – from Honda and Acura are going for very high prices. OBD-II cars typically aren’t even seen in a collector mindset, but let’s not forget, vehicles from 1996 become a 25-year-old car next year, and that qualifies as a collector by just about any standard.

In the past, we saw evidence of this Honda price phenomenon via a Honda S2000 CR. That one saw a selling price of $76,500 before auction fees. As well, we also saw an Acura Integra Type R go for serious money amounts, too. But on Bring a Trailer, this 17,000 mile Acura Integra GS-R has already eclipsed the $25,000 mark. Art the time of writing with 4 days left in the auction, we can only imagine 11th hour bids will easily send this car’s price into the $30,000 range. Maybe even more.

This particular Integra is painted in Milano Red, with thoroughly documented paint meter readings to show the R-81 paint is indeed original. In fact the whole car inside and out is original, save for the front bumper which did have a re-spray. The interior shows only minor sins of aging, but is otherwise factory showroom fresh.

According to BAT, this Acura was put into a state of storage in 2001 with infrequent driving since that date, which accounts for the low mileage. Service history from the car’s early years is provided, along with a recent mechanical refresh for the new owner to enjoy this car as intended.

One thing is for sure. If you ever ask any of the older people at auctions, they’ll tell you about muscle cars that were “a dime a dozen” back in their day. If this pattern keeps up, clean and low mile Hondas will be the ones to find and keep.
