Geometry City Design

This project will allow students to design and create their own Geometric City. Students are given guidelines on what is needed to complete their city including certain shapes and types of lines.

This geometry project incorporates special types of angle pairs that are created from parallel lines. The students will design their city by placing different buildings on special angle pairs such as corresponding angles, alternate exterior angles, alternate interior angles, consecutive interior angles and vertical angles.

It will help master the concepts of

Lines

  • Parallel lines
  • Perpendicular lines
  • Parallel lines cut by a transversal

Angles

  • Vertical angles
  • Corresponding angles
  • Alternate Interior angles
  • Alternate exterior angles
  • Consecutive interior angles
  • Supplementary angles
  • Complementary angles

Linear equations

This geometry project includes:

  • Step-by-step activity directions and requirements
  • Completion checklist
  • Graph paper
  • Partially completed example city
  • Scoring template formatted according to points.
  • Google slides and powerpoint format
