This 1997 Acura Integra Type R is finished in Championship White over black cloth, and its 1.8-liter VTEC inline-four is paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes 15″ wheels, air conditioning, an aftermarket intake, an aftermarket exhaust, a Sony stereo, and front and rear spoilers. The car was first registered in Florida and spent six years in Germany between 2001 and 2007, and it was acquired by the seller in 2012. The seller has since added approximately 20k of its 195k indicated miles, and work performed during current ownership has included an air-conditioning service, refinishing the wheels, fluid changes, and replacement of the radiator, drive belt, and clutch slave cylinder. This DC2 Type R is now offered with recent service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Tennessee title in the seller’s name.
The Type R model features restyled front and rear fascias as well as a ring wing, side skirts, and Type R decals that differentiate it from the standard Integra. This example is finished in Championship White (NH0), and the seller states that the front bumper was refinished following a parking lot incident, and the Acura emblems have been replaced on the front bumper and trunk. Bubbling is also noted near one of the side-markers, and the exterior finish is shown up close in the gallery below along with photos of VIN-stamped stickers.
Factory 15″ alloy wheels wear red Acura center caps and were refinished by the seller. The Type R received larger-diameter disc brakes at each corner as well as a lower ride height when compared with the standard Integra.
The interior features seats with Type R–specific ebony cloth upholstery and contrasting red stitching, along with matching door panels and carpets. Amenities include air conditioning as well as a Sony CD player. The seller reports that corrosion on the floor of the trunk was addressed with a POR-15 rust-preventive coating.
The four-spoke steering wheel wrapped in leather sits ahead a 10k-rpm tachometer and a 150-mph speedometer flanked by gauges to monitor coolant temperature and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows approximately 195k miles, approximately 20k of which were added by the seller.
The 1.8-liter B18C5 inline-four features VTEC variable valve timing and was rated for 195 horsepower when new, which is delivered to the front wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. Red-finished upper strut bar mounts are fitted and an aftermarket intake, exhaust header, and muffler were added, and the spark plug wires cover is missing. Maintenance performed during the seller’s ownership has included oil changes, a transmission fluid change, and an air-conditioning service, along with replacement of the radiator, drive belt, and clutch slave cylinder.
An additional photo of the underside is available in the gallery.
A console-mounted plaque identifies this Type R as number 366 in the series.
The September 2020 Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists registration activity in Florida and Tennessee through its most recent entry in November 2019. The report also indicates that the car was exported to Germany in 2001 and re-imported to Georgia in 2007.
A start-up video is provided above, and an additional start-up filmed from the rear of the car can be viewed here.
